Product Review: Arbonne Primer + Foundation
My journey with Arbonne started when I read a post by one of my favorite bloggers, Kate from The Small Things Blog. Kate is beautiful and charming, and when she says to stand on my head and walk backwards for a week – I do it! She wrote a blog on her skincare routine, and in it she references two Arbonne products that have changed her skin for the better. Being the loyal follower that I am, I posted a comment to my Facebook page asking for an Arbonne consultant to contact me. Enter Andrea Hayden – she is a local Arbonne representative that assisted me in getting these products ordered and shipped to my home with ease. At first I cringed at the costs, but I was reassured when she told me how satisfied I would be with the results. A few short days later, my door bell rang as I was preparing dinner. With anticipation I prayed it would be my Arbonne order – and it was!. I brought the box inside and began unwrapping the contents to find two nicely packaged products that would be the change my skin needed (or so I hoped). I first unwrapped the Makeup Primer and inspected it with curiosity. Then, I opened another equally sized box that contained the Perfecting Liquid Fountain in Honey Beige. Let me back up by saying I have the most temperamental skin on the planet. I’ve tried everything from the cheapest Almay tinted moisturizer to the more expensive MAC brand shellac finish. Nothing seems to work in all the ways I need it to – either I love the look but breakout from the ingredients, or I put it on and feel like I’m wearing a kabuki mask that is three inches thick. I wasn’t at all getting my hopes up that Arbonne would hold the key to unlock all my challenges, but since Kate told me to do it, I would give it a fair try. The day I began using my new products, I moisturized with my less expensive Oil of Olay and then pumped a few dabs of the Makeup Primer on my finger. I began rubbing the primer all over my face and instantly I felt excitement at the texture of the product and how it started minimizing my lines and pores. Could it really be true, did Kate really know everything about beauty and had revealed to the world the game changer? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we still have to try out the true test in the Perfecting Liquid Foundation. Shock came over me as it evened out all of my dark spots, went on like silk, and did not leave my skin feeling like it was being smothered by mud. I finished the process of “putting on my face” and went about my day feeling very positive about my recent purchases. As the day went on, I would check in on my new look and each time I was amazed that it remained exactly as I had left it. I ran around after the kids in the Hampton Roads humidity and still, it stayed put. Through this experiment I learned two things – Arbonne makes amazing products, and Kate from The Small Things Blog is my hero. Now it’s time to go broke buying all the other products she recommends!
